Deck Bollard Overview

A deck bollard is a heavy-duty marine mooring device securely welded or bolted to the deck of a vessel. It is designed to fasten mooring lines (ropes or wires) during berthing, towing, and securing operations.

Modern deck bollards are manufactured in compliance with international standards including ISO 13795NS 2584, and JIS F2001, with Safe Working Loads (SWL) ranging from 5.5 tons to over 140 tons depending on vessel size and application.

Material: Cast Steel (ZG230-450 or equivalent) or SG Iron (Ductile Iron) for maximum tensile strength.

Nominal Diameter:Ranging from 100mm to over 800mm.

SWL (Safe Working Load):Ranging from 10 tons up to 200+ tons (depending on the rope type and breaking load).

Surface Treatment:Heavy-duty anti-corrosion marine coating (Epoxy primer + finish coat) to resist harsh saltwater environments.

Application Area

Marine deck bollards are indispensable mooring and towing components utilized across a diverse spectrum of the maritime and offshore industries. They are extensively installed on commercial vessels, including container ships, bulk carriers, and oil tankers, to ensure secure and stable berthing during port operations.

Furthermore, they are engineered to withstand the extreme, high-impact tensile forces required by harbor tugs, workboats, and specialized barges during towing operations, as well as providing reliable mooring solutions for passenger cruise liners, naval vessels, and coastal fleet operations worldwide.
